Across America, there is a shortage of Asian Americans actively serving as political campaign managers, elected legislators, and civic leaders. There currently lacks a pipeline to encourage, facilitate and support political participation within the Asian American community.
The Asian American Civic Project is intended to serve as a pipeline that provides recent college/graduate school graduates or those interested in a second career in politics an introduction into the political process. The project will provide paid fellowships for individuals to serve as full-time staffers on campaigns of candidates supportive of issues salient to the Asian American community. This project would help lower the barriers for Asian Americans interested in becoming active in electoral politics. |
